The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), a leading biosciences research and innovation organisation in India, has onboarded two MedTech startups from the Netherlands, marking a new step in its efforts to expand its global innovation ecosystem.

The two startups, Aikon Health and Alpha Brain Technologies, operate in the areas of cardiac health and neurological disorders, respectively. Their induction has been facilitated by the Embassy of the Netherlands as part of efforts to strengthen the bilateral innovation bridge between the Netherlands and India and promote the exchange of innovators across the two ecosystems.

The agreements with the startups were announced at C-CAMP in the presence of Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, Director and CEO, C-CAMP, and Anne Cremers, Acting Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in South India.

Dr. Saiyed said the onboarding of the two Dutch companies demonstrates C-CAMP’s growing role as a platform for international bioscience and biotechnology innovation.

“C-CAMP has already established itself as India’s top innovation ecosystem in the biosciences, but this induction of two Dutch startups signals that we are ready for the global biotech innovation landscape,” he said.

He added that C-CAMP aims to attract global talent and knowledge capital while supporting the development of innovative solutions to societal challenges in India and other markets. According to Saiyed, C-CAMP’s entrepreneurship and innovation programmes provide startups and innovators with support beyond infrastructure and market access, including opportunities to expand internationally.

Anne Cremers said the collaboration reflects the growing engagement between the innovation ecosystems of India and the Netherlands.

She noted that several Dutch delegations, including representatives from the health sector, the Vice Minister and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), have engaged with C-CAMP over the past year.

According to Cremers, the partnership is moving beyond formal agreements towards practical collaboration and creating opportunities for innovative startups. She added that the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and C-CAMP remain committed to facilitating and promoting further collaborations between the two countries.

Aikon Health, represented by founder Dr. Thiru Kanagasabapathi, has developed a modular skin-patch wearable designed for patients with heart failure. The device is supported by a digital platform that captures longitudinal vital-sign and haemodynamic data and is designed to integrate with hospital and remote patient monitoring systems.

Alpha Brain Technologies, represented by Co-CEO and Tech Lead Dr. Mehrdad Seirafi, has developed a non-invasive, wearable medical device designed to predict seizures before they occur.
