Stryker has launched Mako 4 SmartRobotics in India, bringing the latest generation of its robotic-arm assisted technology to the country as demand grows for advanced joint replacement procedures.
The fourth generation of the Mako platform is designed to bring patient-specific planning, robotic technology and haptic guidance into a single integrated system. Mako 4 supports three applications: Mako Total Knee, Mako Partial Knee and Mako Total Hip, including advanced primary and revision procedures.
Built on more than two decades of innovation, Mako 4 combines 3D CT-based planning with AccuStop haptic technology, enabling surgeons to plan and execute procedures based on each patient’s individual anatomy. The system also provides real-time intraoperative guidance, designed to support precision and control during joint replacement procedures.
“India's healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly, with growing demand for advanced treatments that support active, healthy lives,” said Aman Rishi, Vice President & General Manager, India, Stryker.
“At Stryker, we are committed to bringing innovation that empowers surgeons and supports the future of healthcare in the country. We're proud to bring Mako 4 to India, helping raise the standard of care and expand access for joint replacement patients nationwide.”
The India launch adds to the global footprint of the Mako platform, which has supported more than 2.5 million procedures across 47 countries. Stryker said the milestone underscores the platform’s expanding role in robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery.
With Mako 4, Stryker is positioning its latest robotic technology as a tool to integrate planning, guidance and surgical execution in joint replacement—bringing its newest generation of the platform to Indian surgeons and patients.
