Time Medical International Ventures (India), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures Limited, has partnered with Parul Sevashram Hospital, Vadodara, to install its DRIS–iMRI Medharanya Suite, an AI-enabled portable intraoperative MRI system designed to enhance precision during complex neurosurgical procedures.

The installation will mark the deployment of one of India's next-generation intraoperative MRI brain suites, integrating artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), exoscope technology, neurophysiology navigation, machine vision, virtual reality and robotics into a single surgical ecosystem.

The DRIS–iMRI Medharanya platform has been developed to provide surgeons with real-time imaging during brain surgery, enabling continuous visualization of neurological structures and helping improve surgical precision, reduce operating time and enhance patient safety. 

Unlike conventional MRI systems, the portable platform is designed specifically for use inside the operating theatre, allowing surgeons to verify tumour removal or anatomical changes during surgery without moving the patient.

According to Time Medical, the integrated system combines diagnostic imaging with intraoperative guidance, supporting seamless pre-operative planning, real-time surgical navigation and post-procedure verification within a single workflow.

The partnership also supports the clinical and academic ambitions of Parul Sevashram Hospital, the teaching hospital of Parul Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, a constituent institution of Parul University. 

The deployment is expected to provide medical students, residents and faculty with hands-on exposure to advanced neurosurgical imaging technologies while strengthening the hospital's capabilities in complex neurological care.

Spread across a 125-acre campus, Parul University has more than 43,000 students, including over 2,500 international students from more than 68 countries, and offers over 250 academic programmes through 34 constituent institutes.

The DRIS–iMRI Medharanya platform is being jointly developed by TMIV in collaboration with Dr. Iype Cherian, a renowned neurosurgeon and educator known for his work in skull base and vascular neurosurgery. Developed with direct clinical inputs from surgeons, the platform aims to address real-world challenges faced during intricate brain surgeries by combining advanced imaging with intelligent surgical technologies.
