ALBIS will present a selection of advanced materials from its broad healthcare portfolio
ALBIS will present its latest healthcare-focused material innovations at COMPAMED 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for medical suppliers and product development. From 17 to 20 November in Düsseldorf, the Hamburg-based distributor will showcase its extensive portfolio of medical-grade plastics, highlighting new materials and advanced applications tailored for the healthcare sector.
The company will demonstrate its capabilities across the entire value chain, from material selection and evaluation to application-specific consulting and regulatory support. Special emphasis will be placed on solutions for biopharma, diabetes care, diagnostics, drug delivery, medical housings, surgical instruments and robotics.
A central highlight of the booth will be the introduction of Alcom MED PP FR, a new polypropylene compound from MOCOM. Developed for applications requiring exceptional flame retardancy and resistance to disinfectants, this glass fiber–reinforced material is both halogen- and PFAS-free. Its formulation meets current regulatory standards while anticipating future requirements, offering enhanced safety and sustainability. Combining mechanical strength, biocompatibility and chemical resistance, Alcom MED PP FR is particularly suited for demanding housing applications such as anesthesia and ventilation systems, mobile ultrasound devices, analytical instruments and homecare systems including sleep therapy equipment. ALBIS has already supported an international life-science company in integrating this new compound into an innovative breath analysis device.
In addition to the new compound, ALBIS will present a selection of advanced materials from its broad healthcare portfolio. These include Covestro’s Makrolon DX with reduced fluorescence for diagnostic applications, LyondellBasell’s expanded Purell range designed for pharmaceutical packaging and medical components, and Syensqo’s latest medical-grade Amodel PPA engineered for high-temperature-resistant disposable devices.
For the first time at COMPAMED, ALBIS will also feature Arkema’s medical-grade polymer portfolio, marking a significant milestone in their partnership established a year ago. These high-performance materials meet the stringent requirements of USP Class VI and ISO 10993 and are well suited for critical applications such as respiratory masks, connectors, catheters, IV bags and hearing aids.
With an extensive selection of medical-grade materials from leading global manufacturers—including BASF, Covestro, INEOS Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Arkema, SK Chemicals, Syensqo and alphagary—ALBIS remains a trusted one-stop partner for customers navigating complex application needs, processing conditions and regulatory demands. Clients benefit from coordinated support even when multiple suppliers are involved.
“The demands placed on materials in the healthcare sector are constantly increasing—in terms of safety, durability and sustainability,” says Mike Freudenstein, Vice President Marketing & Industry Management at ALBIS. “Our goal is to provide our customers with the best possible solution for every application, supported by a strong network, deep industry knowledge and practical consulting expertise.”
