The initial portfolio comprises products across sterile injectables, biologics and topical formulations to be manufactured at Aurigene’s facilities in India
Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, has entered into a strategic long-term Manufacturing and Supply Agreement (MSA) with a leading global pharmaceutical company for commercial manufacturing and supply of a portfolio of more than 20 drug products.
The agreement covers supplies to the US, Europe, Canada and emerging markets and establishes an end-to-end framework spanning technology transfer, process development, scale-up, validation, commercial manufacturing and long-term supply.
The initial portfolio comprises 20-plus products across sterile injectables, biologics and topical formulations, which will be manufactured at Aurigene’s facilities in India.
Aurigene did not disclose the name of the partner, citing confidentiality obligations under the agreement.
The collaboration is expected to progress through a phased technology transfer programme over the next two to three years, leading to commercial manufacturing and supply.
At full commercialisation, the portfolio is expected to generate an estimated annual volume of approximately 18 million units, with injectables accounting for the majority of the volume. Aurigene expects revenues from the programme to begin in calendar year 2028.
The partnership further expands Aurigene’s drug-product CDMO and CMO capabilities, particularly in sterile injectables and biologics, while complementing its established expertise across pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
“We are delighted to enter into this strategic, long-term collaboration,” said Akhil Ravi, Chief Executive Officer, Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services.
“This partnership reflects the confidence global innovators place in our integrated drug-product development and manufacturing capabilities of sterile injectables, biologics and topicals, our proven quality and regulatory track record, and our ability to support complex technology transfers and commercial supply,” added Ravi.
As per Ravi, this partnership provides long-term revenue visibility, supports the scale-up of Aurigene’s drug-product business and strengthens its role in supplying complex pharmaceutical products to global markets.
