Indian Chemical News (ICN), in association with Indian Pharma Post (IPP), will host a session titled “Future of Biopharma R&D: Biosimilars, Biologics, and Advanced Therapeutics” at the ChemPharma R&D Summit 2026 on October 28, 2026, at the Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, Mumbai.

Industry professionals interested in attending the summit as delegates can register here.

The two-day summit, scheduled for October 27–28, 2026, will be held under the theme “Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Sustainability,” bringing together R&D heads, industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and technology experts to examine the evolving role of R&D in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

The panel will feature Aditee Kambli, General Manager, Bharat Serums & Vaccines; Dr. Sushant Kumar, Head of R&D, ImmunoACT; Satish Makkina, Head of Biologics, Procell Biologics; Dr. Shuvankar Ballav, Head of Regulatory Affairs, Advanced Biotech Lab (ABL), Ipca Laboratories; and Dr. Giriraj Acharya, Head of Analytical Science and Partnership, Biologics, Mumbai Biocluster. The session will be moderated by Rahul Koul, Editor, Indian Pharma Post.

During the session, experts will deliberate on the rise of next-generation biologics, the expansion of the biosimilars market, streamlined regulatory pathways, AI-driven target discovery, manufacturing scalability, clinical trial modernisation, mRNA technology expansion, and supply chain resilience.

The session will explore how India’s pharmaceutical industry can move beyond a predominantly volume-driven, cost-competitive generics model towards a higher-value, innovation-led ecosystem. As pricing pressures and intensifying competition reshape the generics market, the discussion will examine opportunities in complex formulations, novel drug delivery systems, biologics, biosimilars, and original drug discovery.

The summit is supported by Platinum Partner: Detox Corporation Private Limited (DCPL); Gold Partners: Aditya Birla Chemicals, BEIL UPL University, DCM Shriram Chemicals, and Revvity Signals; Associate Partner: Calibre Chemical; and Enterprise AI Partner: Sarthak AI.

The ChemPharma R&D Summit 2026 aims to provide a high-level platform for dialogue among government, industry, and academia on the future of research, development, and innovation.

Against a backdrop of rapid technological advances, evolving regulatory expectations, and geopolitical uncertainty, the summit will focus on strengthening R&D capabilities as a strategic driver of competitiveness, resilience, sustainability, and long-term value creation across the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
