Lannett company commercialises first product from its inhalation pipeline in two strengths
Aurobindo Pharma USA’s wholly owned subsidiary Lannett Company LLC has launched the generic equivalent of Advair Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder) in the US market.
The product, originally developed by GSK plc, has been launched in 100/50 mcg and 250/50 mcg strengths, marking Lannett’s first commercialisation from its inhalation product pipeline in the US.
The company said the launch reflects its continued focus on expanding its portfolio of complex and differentiated inhalation products in the US market.
Advair Diskus is a combination therapy indicated for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The launch adds to Aurobindo Pharma’s US portfolio while strengthening its presence in complex respiratory drug-delivery products.
The company is continuing to develop its inhalation pipeline as part of its strategy to expand into differentiated products beyond conventional oral solid formulations.
