The facility is expected to become operational by FY2028-29
Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd has officially started construction on a new Rs. 2,300 crore, 102-acre greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at Rambilli Industrial Park in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh, India.
The facility will focus on manufacturing complex pharmaceutical intermediates, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), high-intensity sweeteners, and multipurpose chemistry products.
While initial reports estimated the total investment potential at Rs. 2,300 crore (approx. $275M–$300M), the board has officially approved Rs. 1,000 crore (roughly $110M–$120M to fund the first phase.
The ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh and senior government officials, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion strategy.
This project represents a major capacity expansion for Blue Jet, aimed at bolstering its position as a global supplier to pharmaceutical innovators and strengthening its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) services.
Once fully commissioned, the project is expected to create 1,750 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs.
The plant will feature Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technologies and advanced effluent treatment systems, aiming to reduce energy consumption and maximize water recycling.
The facility is expected to become operational by FY2028-29.
