BPL Medical Technologies, one of India’s leading medical technology companies, has acquired South Korea-based Yozma BMtech, a specialist in bone mineral density (BMD) diagnostic solutions, in a move aimed at strengthening its imaging and preventive diagnostics portfolio.
The acquisition significantly expands BPL MedTech’s capabilities in bone health, preventive healthcare, and women’s health, while also accelerating its push into international markets.
As part of the deal, BPL Medical Technologies has introduced BM Tech’s advanced bone mineral density measuring systems in India and Dubai, widening access to early screening and monitoring tools for osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions.
The newly launched systems combine high-precision diagnostics with patient-friendly design. Key features include high-speed scanning with high-resolution imaging, low-radiation exposure for improved patient safety, and advanced fan-beam technology with multi-channel detectors that enable accurate measurement of bone density across multiple anatomical sites.
Select models also support whole-body bone densitometry and body composition analysis, allowing clinicians to conduct more comprehensive preventive health assessments. The systems’ compact design enables deployment even in space-constrained hospitals and diagnostic centres, improving accessibility across clinical settings.
The launch comes amid rising demand for preventive diagnostics, driven by ageing populations, increasing prevalence of osteoporosis, and growing lifestyle-related health risks. By integrating BM Tech’s technology, BPL aims to enhance its diagnostic offerings while strengthening its presence in the women’s health segment, where bone density testing is critical for managing post-menopausal health risks.
Commenting on the development, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director, BPL Medical Technologies said, “This acquisition represents a significant step in strengthening our preventive healthcare and diagnostics portfolio. Bone health, particularly among women and aging populations, requires greater focus on early detection and monitoring. By bringing advanced bone mineral density technology to key markets, we aim to improve access to reliable screening solutions and support better clinical outcomes.”
The acquisition is expected to accelerate innovation in imaging and diagnostics while deepening BPL’s global footprint. By combining BM Tech’s specialized technology with BPL’s manufacturing strength, distribution network, and clinical expertise, the company plans to drive wider adoption of early detection tools that improve patient outcomes.
