Collaboration to deliver scalable automation solutions for electronics, semiconductor, medical manufacturing, and intralogistics sectors
Industrial automation players Comau and Omron Robotics have signed a strategic collaboration agreement designed to speed up the deployment of advanced automation technologies across global manufacturing.
The partnership targets fast-growing industries including electronics, semiconductors, medical manufacturing, and light industrial intralogistics—sectors where demand is rising for flexible, scalable, and easy-to-integrate automation systems.
At the core of the agreement is a push to meet manufacturers’ increasing need for adaptable solutions that can be deployed both in existing production environments and next-generation smart factories.
By combining their respective robotics portfolios, software platforms, and control technologies, the two companies aim to expand access to more integrated and future-ready automation systems worldwide.
The collaboration is also positioned as a foundation for longer-term joint development efforts, with both companies signaling ambitions to drive greater efficiency, flexibility, and performance through tighter integration of robotics hardware and software-driven automation.
“This initiative is fully aligned with our strategy to expand Comau’s solution portfolio through high-impact partnerships,” said Pietro Gorlier, CEO of Comau.
“Omron is an ideal partner, sharing our vision of open innovation and customer-centric value creation. By combining Comau’s robotics expertise with Omron’s complementary technologies and software capabilities, we enable the delivery of solutions that are easier to deploy, highly adaptable, and future-ready.
"This collaboration also strengthens Comau’s presence in high-growth sectors and new geographies, helping customers effectively manage increasing industrial complexity through reliable, safe, and scalable automation.”
“Through this collaboration, we are bringing together two complementary portfolios with a shared focus on customer success,” said Olivier Welker, CEO of OMRON Robotics.
“By aligning our expertise in robotics, applications, advanced control, and intelligent automation technologies, we can help manufacturers respond faster to changing market demands. Together, this new collaboration will allow us to deliver more flexible, connected, and sustainable production systems that support long-term growth for our customers.”
The alliance underscores a broader shift in the industrial automation sector toward interoperable, software-enabled robotics ecosystems built to handle rapid changes in global manufacturing demand.
