In a major push to advance surgical imaging capabilities in India, medical technology provider Healthware has joined hands with global imaging and diagnostic leader Fujifilm to expand access to advanced intra-operative ultrasound systems across the country.

The strategic collaboration will focus on making Fujifilm’s state-of-the-art surgical ultrasound technology more widely available across India's healthcare ecosystem, equipping clinicians with real-time imaging capabilities to support complex surgical procedures and improve intra-operative decision-making.

At the heart of the partnership is Fujifilm’s advanced intra-operative ultrasound portfolio, designed to enhance real-time visualisation during surgery. The technology enables surgeons to identify anatomical structures with greater precision, assess tumour boundaries accurately and navigate complex procedures with increased confidence, while integrating into existing surgical workflows.

Commenting on the strategic partnership, K. Tarun Narayan, Director, Healthware, said, "For 37 years, Healthware has been about one thing: bringing world-class medical technology to Indian clinicians and standing behind it every day. Partnering with Fujifilm, a name synonymous with imaging excellence, lets us bring real-time surgical ultrasound to more operating rooms across India, and that is a responsibility we take seriously."

Echoing this sentiment, Koji Wada, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, "At FUJIFILM, we believe that meaningful innovation is driven by collaboration and a shared commitment to improving patient care. Our partnership with Healthware marks an important step towards advancing surgical ultrasound solutions in India, bringing real-time imaging closer to the operating room.

"By combining technological innovation with clinical expertise, we aim to empower healthcare professionals with greater confidence in decision-making and contribute to better patient outcomes. Together, we aspire to make quality healthcare more accessible and create MORE SMILES across India."

Beyond expanding access to advanced medical technology, the alliance is expected to create new opportunities for healthcare providers while supporting the modernisation of India's surgical infrastructure. The collaboration also comes amid the country's growing ambitions to strengthen its position as a global destination for medical tourism.

For surgeons, access to real-time intra-operative ultrasound can support more precise anatomical identification, tumour boundary assessment and surgical navigation. The combination of Fujifilm's imaging technology and Healthware's nationwide service and clinical application network is aimed at ensuring that clinicians receive both advanced equipment and the technical support needed to integrate it into clinical practice.

For patients, the potential benefits are significant: more informed surgical decisions, reduced procedural risks, shorter recovery periods and improved outcomes.

By bringing advanced surgical imaging technology closer to operating rooms across India, Healthware and Fujifilm are seeking to strengthen clinical capabilities, expand access to modern healthcare solutions and contribute to the next phase of growth in India's medical technology sector.
