MedPharm is expanding its proteomic analysis capabilities with Olink certification, becoming the first Olink Certified Service Provider (CSP) in the Carolinas and one of only three in the Southeastern United States.

 

The certification gives MedPharm’s clients direct access to targeted, multiplex protein biomarker analysis and strengthens the company’s ability to connect proteomic data with established disease models using reconstructed and ex vivo human tissues.

 

The result is an integrated approach designed to give researchers a deeper view of therapeutic activity, biological responses and potential mechanisms of action in human-relevant models.

 

“Becoming an Olink Certified Service Provider extends MedPharm into targeted, multiplex protein biomarker analysis for the first time,” said Jon Lenn, Chief Scientific Officer, MedPharm. 

 

“We are the only contract research organization with Certified Service Provider status in the Carolinas, and this platform lets us bring that capability to sponsors directly rather than through a third party. This certification is also the first step in a broader plan to expand MedPharm’s capabilities as a contract research organization, supporting clinical trial sample analysis and translational models that support clinical development.”

 

Olink’s platform is powered by Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, which uses dual antibody recognition and a DNA-based readout to measure protein biomarkers with high sensitivity. The technology can measure proteins from sample volumes as small as 1 µL, supporting both absolute and relative measurements across low- and high-abundance targets.

 

For MedPharm, the certification marks a step beyond traditional testing capabilities and toward a broader role in proteomics, translational research and clinical development.
