Morepen Laboratories Limited has commenced commercial supplies under its recently announced Rs. 825 crore contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) mandate, marking the transition of the project from the validation and qualification phase to commercial execution.

The company announced that it completed its first commercial dispatch worth approximately Rs. 50 crore during the first quarter of FY2026–27, marking the successful operationalisation of the long-term manufacturing programme.

Sanjay Suri, Managing Director, Morepen Laboratories Limited, said, "This is an important milestone in Morepen's transition toward long-duration global manufacturing partnerships. Our teams have worked closely with the customer through validation, manufacturing readiness and supply-chain planning. Having started execution of commercial supplies, we are focused on scaling up, expanding capacity and building a stronger CDMO platform across additional customer and product opportunities."

Following the initial shipment, Morepen expects to scale up the programme in the second quarter of FY2026–27, with additional commercial supplies of approximately ₹225 crore, subject to customer schedules and regulatory and commercial requirements.

To support its growing CDMO business, the company is expanding its manufacturing infrastructure. Morepen expects its total reactor capacity to reach around 600 kilolitres (KL) by the end of the second quarter, with further phased expansion planned to 800 KL and eventually 1,000 KL.

The commencement of commercial supplies under the mandate strengthens Morepen's strategy to build a scalable CDMO platform, deepen relationships with global customers, and expand its participation in long-term international manufacturing partnerships.
