The Healthy Indian Project (THIP) has won the ‘Breakthrough Digital Patient Education Initiative’ award at the 5th India Vaccine Leaders Conclave, held in Pune, recognising its work in digital patient education and evidence-based vaccination awareness.

The award was presented to THIP for its digital education platform, THIP Academy, which develops accessible, evidence-based educational content on vaccines and healthcare.

The India Vaccine Leaders Conclave brings together stakeholders from the vaccine and healthcare ecosystem, including biotechnology executives, researchers and government representatives.

Other organisations and individuals recognised at the event included Serum Institute of India, Biological E, Pharma Next and Dr Dang’s Lab.

THIP Academy currently offers three vaccine-focused courses covering adult vaccination, paediatric vaccination and HPV vaccination. The courses are designed to help users better understand vaccines, vaccination schedules and related health information.

Neelam Singh, Managing Editor, THIP, said improving vaccination coverage requires not only access to vaccines but also reliable information that enables people to make informed decisions. She said the recognition highlights the role of digital patient education and health literacy in improving healthcare outcomes.

THIP is also a member of the WHO Vaccine Safety Net and has been involved in health fact-checking and digital health education, including efforts to counter vaccine misinformation that intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organisation has partnered with medical associations including ISLM and ISSR to develop evidence-based digital education courses covering health conditions, treatments and vaccinations. These collaborations bring clinical expertise into patient education while simplifying complex medical information for wider audiences.

THIP is also a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and works as a third-party fact-checker for Meta, helping identify and address health misinformation across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp.

The latest recognition comes as THIP continues to expand its digital patient education initiatives focused on vaccination awareness, health literacy and evidence-based medical information.
