Medi Assist Healthcare Services Limited has announced the appointment of Gaurav Bhatnagar as Chief TPA Officer.
In his new role, Bhatnagar will lead the company’s Third Party Administrator (TPA) business, focusing on operational excellence, technology-enabled member experiences, stronger insurer and hospital partnerships, and accelerating the next phase of growth.
Based in Bengaluru, Bhatnagar will report to the CEO and will play a key role in strengthening Medi Assist’s healthcare administration capabilities as India’s health insurance ecosystem expands.
Bhatnagar brings over 18 years of experience in commercial operations, business transformation, and scaling public and private equity-backed companies across software, consumer, and services sectors.
His expertise lies in building efficient, customer-focused operating models for complex, high-volume businesses — capabilities aligned with the evolving needs of India’s health benefits administration ecosystem.
Before joining Medi Assist, Bhatnagar led sales strategy and revenue operations for Coupang Advertising’s e-commerce advertising business in Seoul, where he redesigned operating models, developed analytics capabilities, and delivered sustained revenue growth along with productivity improvements.
Earlier, he served as Senior Vice President in the Portfolio Value Creation team at Permira, working with portfolio companies across SaaS, consumer, technology-enabled services, and pharmaceutical sectors on operational transformation, customer journey enhancement, go-to-market strategies, and M&A value creation.
Bhatnagar also held product and go-to-market leadership roles at Amazon Europe, where he contributed to products and features that continue to serve customers on the platform.
Satish Gidugu, CEO, Medi Assist Group, said, “Gaurav has consistently built businesses that are both highly efficient and deeply customer-centric. What sets him apart is his ability to bring data, technology, and high-performing teams together to solve complex problems at scale — precisely the mindset healthcare administration needs as India moves towards a seamless, cashless future.”
Speaking on his appointment, Gaurav Bhatnagar said, “It is my privilege to join Medi Assist at a time when healthcare delivery and claims administration in India are evolving rapidly. Medi Assist sits at the centre of the healthcare ecosystem, and the opportunity to shape how millions of members experience care is what drew me here.”
