Initiative by National Health Authority aimed at accelerating automated claims processing under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana
National Health Authority, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with the IndiaAI Mission and Indian Institute of Science, concluded the AB PM-JAY Auto-Adjudication Hackathon Showcase 2026.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening AI-driven healthcare claims processing under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The two-day national showcase recognised winning teams across three key problem statements focused on improving speed, transparency, accuracy, fraud detection, and programme integrity in healthcare claims adjudication. The hackathon received over 3,500 registrations from startups, students, researchers, innovators, and technology professionals across India.
Under the category “Clinical Document Classification and Compliance with Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs),” Team Nirnaya, led by Vinay Babu Ulli, emerged as the winner for its AI-enabled solution for automated interpretation of healthcare claim documents and STG compliance assessment.
In the “Radiological Image-Based Condition Detection and Report Correlation” category, Team BiltIQ AI, led by Harish Kumar, won for its AI-driven radiology interpretation and report correlation solution.
Under the “Document Forgery / Deepfake Detection” category, Team Sopa Claims, led by Praveen Sridhar and Snehal Joshi, secured the top position for its AI-based fraud detection platform.
Winning teams received cash prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, and Rs 2 lakh for winner, runner-up, and second runner-up positions, respectively. The selected teams may also collaborate further with the National Health Authority for deployment of solutions within the AB PM-JAY ecosystem.
