AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited has inaugurated a new corporate office in Mumbai.

Thus, marking a fresh phase in its India growth strategy as the global biopharmaceutical company looks to accelerate healthcare innovation, expand access to life-saving treatments and deepen partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.

The 25,600 sq ft office was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside senior government officials, diplomatic dignitaries and AstraZeneca representatives.

The move comes as AstraZeneca expands its research and commercial presence in India. "Our stronger presence in Mumbai strengthens our ability to work with partners across the healthcare ecosystem and advance solutions that address the needs of patients in India. Our strong workforce of nearly 5,000 colleagues across the country are united by a common ambition to follow the science, advance access to life saving therapies and help more people live better, healthier lives.”

The company is also looking to leverage artificial intelligence and develop solutions spanning prevention, awareness, diagnosis and treatment. Working with governments and industry partners, it aims to create new pathways to bring life-saving therapies to more patients.

The Mumbai office is expected to strengthen engagement with India’s fast-evolving healthcare ecosystem as AstraZeneca builds on its presence across its three core therapy areas.

Arun Krishna, Non-Executive Director on the Board of AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited and Area Vice President, Asia, AstraZeneca, said “India is an increasingly important contributor to AstraZeneca’s growth across Asia. The momentum of our business, the evolution of our portfolio, and the depth of talent and capabilities in the country provides a strong foundation for the opportunity ahead.
