The company spotlights micronutrient’s role in immunity, skin and bone health through digital and radio outreach on National Vitamin C Day
Marking National Vitamin C Day, Abbott has launched a high-impact integrated awareness campaign across India to spotlight the vital role of Vitamin C in overall wellness, with a focus on immunity, skin and bone health.
The campaign combines multiple high-engagement platforms to drive mass awareness. As part of the initiative, Abbott has partnered with Mithila Palkar to create relatable digital content that simplifies the science behind Vitamin C and its everyday health benefits. The initiative is further supported by targeted radio outreach featuring healthcare professionals sharing evidence-based insights on the importance of adequate Vitamin C intake.
Commenting on the campaign, Dr. Ankith Rai, Associate Director – Medical Affairs, Abbott India, said, “Vitamin C is essential for strong immunity, healthy skin and protecting the body from daily stress. However, nearly 30% of Indians may not get enough Vitamin C from their regular diet. Through this campaign, we aim to inspire people to take small, simple steps toward stronger immunity, healthier skin and better bone health.”
The campaign builds on findings from Abbott’s 2024 pan-India IPSOS survey, Healthy Living: The Role of Vitamin C, conducted across nine cities. The study found that nearly 7 in 10 consumers associate good health with strong immunity, high energy levels and the ability to perform daily activities without difficulty.
Key insights showed that 52% of respondents reported fewer sick days during rainy and winter seasons after taking Vitamin C supplements, while 61% of women said Vitamin C supported faster recovery from illness. Additionally, 65% believed vitamin supplements help maintain overall health, and 52% linked them to better bone and joint health.
The campaign reinforces Abbott’s preventive healthcare approach and its continued efforts to promote science-led wellness awareness among Indian consumers.
