Exclusive partnership introduces globally benchmarked stem cell processing platform aimed at improving stem cell recovery, quality, and long-term therapeutic potential
Cryoviva Life Sciences has introduced the advanced PrepaCyte-CB cord blood processing technology in India through an exclusive partnership, marking a significant step toward strengthening the country’s regenerative healthcare and stem cell banking ecosystem.
The company said the move is designed to shift the focus of cord blood banking beyond simple storage toward preserving stem cells with higher quality, functionality, and clinical relevanc
With the introduction of PrepaCyte-CB, Cryoviva aims to provide Indian families access to a globally recognized cord blood processing technology already adopted in several international markets, including the United States, Europe, and Singapore.
According to the company, the technology offers higher stem cell recovery rates, superior red blood cell depletion, improved post-thaw functionality, and more consistent processing outcomes, including for low-volume cord blood collections.
Scientific studies associated with the platform have demonstrated approximately 86% Total Nucleated Cell (TNC) recovery, up to 12 times greater red blood cell depletion, and nearly 1.5 times higher clonogenic potential following thawing when compared with conventional processing methods.
Dr. Alok Khullar, Group CEO, RJ Corp Healthcare (Cryoviva Life Sciences and Cocoon Hospitals), said, “The future of stem cell banking cannot be limited to preservation alone; it must focus on preserving stem cells that are purer, stronger, functional, and clinically meaningful for evolving therapeutic applications.”
“By bringing PrepaCyte-CB technology to India, Cryoviva is taking an important step towards raising the benchmark for cord blood processing and enabling Indian families to access globally advanced standards in regenerative healthcare,” added Khullar.
