Rainbow Children's Medicare Limited (RCML), India's leading pediatric multi-specialty and perinatal care hospital chain is expanding its bed capacity in NCR (National Capital Region) by adding two hospitals with capacity of ~400 beds in Gurugram. The proposed expansion will strengthen the company's existing footprint in the NCR and enable it to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the residents of Gurugram and northern states. The addition of these two hospitals will provide increased access to specialized pediatric and perinatal care services in the geography.

The company recently participated in the e-auction held by HSVP (Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran) and won the bids for 2 land parcels measuring 9,391 Sq. Mt. (~2.32 acres) and 4,987.10 Sq. Mt. (~1.23 acres) in sector 44 and sector 56 of Gurugram respectively. The company awaits the allotment letter from HSVP.

At present, Rainbow manages 130 beds Madhukar Rainbow Children's Hospital located in Saket, South Delhi. This hospital offers multidisciplinary pediatric and perinatal care and is a referral center for neonatal and pediatric intensive care, bone marrow transplants, fetal scans and fetal therapies and cochlear implants.

The company also runs a 24 beds premium birthing center under the brand Rosewalk by Rainbow Hospitals which provides comprehensive care for pregnancy, birthing experience and fetal medicine.

Speaking about the expansion, Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman and Managing Director, Rainbow Children's Hospital said, "Gurugram is a rapidly developing city in the National Capital Region and has emerged as one of the largest medical hubs in North India. We see a huge need and potential for a comprehensive pediatric multispecialty and perinatal hospital for NCR, northern states and international patients.

A greenfield hub hospital with ~300 beds will be constructed at sector 44 to provide all pediatric specialties under one roof with tertiary and quaternary care and focus on high end perinatal service. We envisage this hospital to be a referral center for all pediatric solutions in NCR and northern states. A greenfield state of the art spoke hospital with ~100 beds will be built at sector 56 to provide comprehensive pediatric and perinatal care with 24/7 emergency care for the rapidly growing population of the surrounding geography.

The company is comfortably placed to add the 1000 beds as envisioned in the business plan and as outlined during the IPO and investor meetings. The company is focused on executing these projects in a timely manner."
