BASF is stepping up its push into next-generation beauty and skincare innovation with the launch of Lincare, a naturally derived active ingredient designed to accelerate skin recovery and enhance visible rejuvenation following laser treatments.
Unveiled at in-cosmetics Asia 2026 in Bangkok, Lincare targets the growing demand for advanced post-procedure skincare as aesthetic treatments gain mainstream popularity and consumers increasingly seek products that deliver more than basic skin recovery.
Derived from flaxseed hull oligosaccharides, the new ingredient is designed to support multiple stages of skin recovery, soothe post-treatment skin, strengthen the skin barrier and promote extracellular matrix remodelling. It also aims to enhance visible improvements in skin appearance following laser procedures.
Clinical results suggest significant potential. Testing following non-ablative fractional laser treatment found that a formulation containing 1% Lincare helped the skin barrier recover 21% faster than placebo, allowing recovery approximately 1.2 days earlier.
The ingredient also delivered up to twice the barrier improvement compared with placebo after 14 days, strengthening skin-barrier performance beyond pre-treatment levels.
The anti-ageing results were equally striking. Clinical assessments showed that post-laser skincare formulations containing Lincare delivered: 1.8 times greater improvement in the appearance of forehead fine lines; 1.5 times greater improvement in the appearance of crow's feet; 1.4 times greater improvement in the appearance of nasolabial folds.
Participants using Lincare also achieved up to 16% greater skin density after 56 days, while laser treatment alone showed no measurable improvement over the same period.
The findings position Lincare as a multifunctional ingredient designed to bridge the gap between post-treatment recovery and longer-term visible skin rejuvenation.
“The convergence of aesthetics and skin care is opening new opportunities for innovation across the beauty industry. Lincare™ embodies BASF's commitment to advancing skin science and enabling the next generation of post-procedure beauty solutions”, said Lucilene Veira Nunes, Global Business Management, Beauty Care Solutions at BASF.
Beyond the Lincare launch, BASF is using in-cosmetics Asia 2026 to demonstrate the breadth of its latest innovations under the theme "Beyond Beauty: Future Unlocked".
The showcase highlights technologies spanning skin regeneration, sun protection, active ingredient delivery, cleansing and sensorial formulations, reflecting BASF's growing focus on the evolving beauty and personal care market across Asia Pacific.
