Coveris is ramping up its Central and Eastern European operations with a €1.8 million investment across two manufacturing sites in Poland, targeting faster production, higher output, and improved functionality across its food, pet food, and personal care packaging lines.
The upgrade centres on new machinery and advanced technology designed to expand capacity and sharpen turnaround times in increasingly competitive flexible packaging markets.
“Strategic investment in technology is key to how we grow and support our customers. By strengthening our operations in Poland, we are expanding capacity, increasing flexibility and delivering the speed and quality our customers need to compete in fast-moving markets,” said Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris.
At the heart of the investment is a SOMA Proxima high-speed flexographic printing press, capable of running at up to 400 metres per minute. The upgrade is expected to lift production capacity by around 30% annually, while improving print consistency, efficiency, and delivery times for high-volume packaging formats.
Coveris has also added a LEMO bag-making machine producing wicketted bags sized between 230mm and 380mm. The line processes CPP, LDPE, and HDPE films and can produce up to 550 bags per minute, strengthening supply for bakery, fresh produce, and personal care applications.
Beyond capacity gains, the company is also pushing functionality forward with new laser scoring technology for stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags, enabling cleaner, easier opening and improving consumer convenience and shelf appeal.
Together, the investments position Poland as a key growth hub for Coveris in the region, combining scale, speed, and innovation to meet rising demand and support future packaging development.
