Akums Drugs & Pharma, and Sharda University signed an MoU for pharma innovation, bridging academia & industry via joint research, tech transfer, skill-building, internships, and projects, ensuring students gain practical skills for future healthcare needs, creating market-ready solutions and enhancing industry talent.

This MoU creates a strategic bridge between Sharda University’s academic expertise and Akums’ advanced R&D and manufacturing infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on research, innovation, and industry-led training to accelerate pharmaceutical development while equipping students with the professional skills required for the evolving job market.

The primary goal of the collaboration is joint research into trending and next-generation molecules, as well as advanced drug delivery technologies. The partnership also includes provisions for technology transfer, which will help translate promising academic research into commercially viable pharmaceutical products.

As part of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), students from Sharda University will have access to structured internship programs at Akums’ manufacturing facilities. These internships offer practical experience in real-world pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality systems, regulatory practices, and research and development (R&D) processes. The initiative further includes organized industrial visits to give students insight into large-scale pharmaceutical operations and industry best practices.

Commenting on the collaboration, Arushi Jain Director of Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, said: “At Akums, we strongly believe that meaningful industry–academia partnerships are critical for driving innovation and building a future-ready pharmaceutical ecosystem. This collaboration with Sharda University reflects our commitment to nurturing talent, accelerating translational research, and enabling young minds to gain real-world industry exposure.”

From Sharda University’s side, Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi Ranjan, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University Agra, welcomed the partnership and highlighted its academic and societal significance. “This MoU with Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals marks an important step toward strengthening experiential learning and applied research for our students and faculty.
