Avantor has expanded its strategic collaboration with Amcor, with Avantor India appointed as the exclusive distributor of Amcor’s Parafilm® M sealing wrap products in India, strengthening access to critical laboratory consumables across research, testing, horticulture and industrial applications.

The partnership expands Avantor India’s laboratory consumables portfolio at a time when India’s scientific, pharmaceutical and industrial research ecosystem is scaling rapidly, creating greater demand for dependable contamination-control and sample-protection solutions.

Parafilm M, a flexible, semi-transparent wax-based sealing film, is widely used across laboratories for its up to 200% stretchability, self-sealing performance and moisture-barrier properties. The product is designed to mold around irregular surfaces and seal containers such as beakers, flasks, tubes and culture plates, helping laboratories reduce evaporation, minimise contamination risks and maintain controlled gas exchange in sensitive workflows.

Its applications span cell culture protection, sample integrity, equipment safeguarding, short-term storage, incubator workflows, cold-room handling, and transport of biological and chemical samples, making it a routine but essential consumable in research and quality environments.

The addition of Parafilm M aligns with Avantor India’s broader role in supporting research, testing, manufacturing and quality-control workflows through an integrated portfolio of consumables, instruments, equipment and services.
