Chai Discovery and Bristol Myers Squibb team up to accelerate AI-driven antibody discovery
Bristol Myers Squibb will use Chai’s AI models and molecular-design platform to identify antibody candidates across its portfolio

AI drug-discovery company Chai Discovery is teaming up with Bristol Myers Squibb to accelerate the search for new therapeutic antibodies, bringing artificial intelligence deeper into the pharmaceutical giant’s drug-development pipeline.
Under the collaboration, Bristol Myers Squibb will use Chai’s AI models and molecular-design platform to identify antibody candidates across its portfolio. The partnership will also support Bristol Myers Squibb’s push to build an AI-powered, continuously learning discovery system.
“By combining Chai’s advanced AI models with Bristol Myers Squibb’s deep therapeutic expertise, we hope to rapidly accelerate the timeline from concept to viable therapeutic candidates," said Joshua Meier, co-founder and CEO of Chai Discovery.
Chai’s technology is designed to predict and reprogram molecular interactions, allowing researchers to generate new biomolecules with specific properties. Its molecular folding and design models are aimed at shortening drug-discovery cycles and opening up targets that have traditionally been difficult to pursue.

The deal adds Bristol Myers Squibb to Chai Discovery’s growing roster of biopharmaceutical collaborators.
The company says its broader goal is to bring the speed and precision of modern engineering to drug discovery — including the search for treatments against diseases involving so-called “undruggable” targets.
