Perceptive Discovery and Nucleus RadioPharma have joined forces to streamline radiopharmaceutical development, targeting one of the sector’s critical challenges: moving promising candidates from early-stage research to clinical manufacturing with greater speed and efficiency.
The strategic partnership connects Perceptive Discovery’s expertise in radiochemistry, preclinical models, molecular imaging, biodistribution and dosimetry with Nucleus RadioPharma’s capabilities in GMP radiolabeling, process development, clinical and commercial manufacturing, isotope supply chains, and regulatory and quality support.
The companies aim to close the gap between preclinical imaging and GMP manufacturing—a transition that can add time, cost and complexity to radiopharmaceutical development.
Under the agreement, both companies will refer qualified customer opportunities to each other across the development continuum. A joint governance structure will support the collaboration, with a shared focus on reducing delays and ensuring a smoother transition from early scientific validation to clinical production.
"Discovery to Dose is more than a handoff between companies. It is an integrated pathway designed to move promising radiopharmaceuticals from early science to patients faster, with manufacturability and scale considered from the beginning," said Stephen Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Nucleus RadioPharma.
"By connecting Perceptive Discovery's preclinical imaging leadership with our clinical and commercial manufacturing capabilities, we are giving our shared customers a clearer, faster route from target to clinic – and ultimately helping important new therapies reach patients sooner."
For Perceptive Discovery, the partnership establishes a more direct route from preclinical imaging to clinical-scale production. Biodistribution and dosimetry data generated through imaging play a crucial role in selecting radioligand candidates and designing first-in-human studies. Coordinating the transition to GMP manufacturing is intended to preserve scientific continuity as programs advance toward clinical development.
"Advancing a radiopharmaceutical requires teams to consider the path to the clinic from the earliest stages of development," said Benjamin Murphy, CEO, Perceptive Discovery. "By working with Nucleus, we can help sponsors anticipate scientific and manufacturing challenges earlier and establish a clearer, more cost effective, path from promising candidate to clinical development."
The agreement is non-exclusive, allowing both companies to operate independently while preserving customer choice. The partners plan to review the collaboration’s performance and consider expanding its scope over time in response to customer needs.
By linking early-stage scientific expertise with clinical and commercial manufacturing capabilities, Perceptive Discovery and Nucleus RadioPharma are positioning their collaboration as a more integrated route for radiopharmaceutical developers seeking to advance candidates toward clinical trials and, ultimately, patients.
