Sai Life Sciences Limited, one of India’s fastest-growing CRDMOs, has released its 2024–25 Sustainability Report, pledging climate action and stakeholder trust.
Aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Universal Standards 2021 and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) guidelines, the report is themed “Driving climate action, deepening stakeholder trust.”
Commenting on the release, Krishna Kanumuri, MD & CEO, Sai Life Sciences, said: "Reliability with responsibility is central to the CRDMO mandate and deeply embedded in how we operate at Sai Life Sciences. Over the past year, we translated this commitment into action through progress across climate actions, circular economy initiatives, people-led HR transformation, and tech-enabled innovation. Going forward, we are focused on scaling these efforts to build a resilient, science-forward, and sustainability-led operating model that delivers enduring value to our partners and stakeholders.”
The report details nine strategic pillars that anchor the company’s sustainability approach: water stewardship, climate action, circularity, biodiversity, sustainable procurement, human capital, governance and ethics, community engagement, and customer co-creation. Together, these pillars form a framework that embeds sustainability into every stage of Sai Life Sciences’ operations, aligning business objectives with stakeholder expectations.
The company also reported significant progress toward its internally defined Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which chart a roadmap through March 2027. Key highlights include reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, a dramatic rise in renewable energy use—96% of the API manufacturing unit in Bidar is now powered by renewables—and lower water consumption across facilities.
On the social front, Sai Life Sciences surpassed its target to provide education and livelihood support to 8,000 individuals from underprivileged communities. The company also strengthened its workforce diversity, with women now representing 14% of its employees.
The 2024–25 Sustainability Report underscores Sai Life Sciences’ long-term commitment to integrating science, responsibility, and collaboration into its growth strategy. As the company continues expanding globally, sustainability remains both a guiding compass and a catalyst for resilient, future-ready operations.
