Menthra launches AI-powered emotional wellbeing platform in India

Menthra, an emotional wellbeing platform designed to help individuals work through personal challenges and move toward resolution, has officially launched in India after a successful beta phase that attracted more than 30,000 users and a network of 500 therapists, coaches, and wellbeing professionals.

Founded in late 2025 by serial entrepreneur and technologist Dinakara Nagalla, the platform aims to address one of the largest unmet healthcare needs globally—accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant emotional wellbeing support.

Nagalla is best known as the founder of EmpowerMX, which was acquired by Swedish enterprise software company IFS in 2024. He is also the author of Becoming Human: Embracing Imperfection and Finding Purpose and the speaker behind the TEDx talk The Algorithm That Broke Me.

Menthra offers a multilingual platform that enables users to engage in conversations in Hindi, Hinglish, English, and other regional languages. The platform is designed to provide continuity in support, allowing conversations to pick up where they previously ended while adapting to individual needs and communication styles over time.

The company’s model is built around a continuum of care comprising three distinct layers.

The first layer includes AI-powered companions that provide anonymous, around-the-clock emotional support. The second layer consists of coaches and mentors who help users navigate personal growth, life transitions, and relationship challenges. For individuals requiring professional intervention, the third layer, Menthra Care India, offers clinical support guided by a clinical advisory board of psychiatrists trained at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

Dinakara Nagalla, Founder and CEO of Menthra, said that the company was created to move beyond helping people merely cope with challenges and instead help them resolve them.

“For two decades I built systems that moved planes, money, and information around the world. But the systems people need for emotional wellbeing have never been built. Menthra is building that layer,” he said.
