The partnership will organize training programmes, workshops and stakeholder awareness initiatives aimed at improving regulatory capabilities across the industry
The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Uttar Pradesh Promote Pharma Council (UPPPC) to strengthen quality standards, regulatory compliance, innovation and capacity building across India's pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the YEIDA MedTech Investors Meet & Site Visit 2026 held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, marking another step towards enhancing India's healthcare quality ecosystem and supporting Uttar Pradesh's ambitions of becoming a major life sciences and medical technology hub.
The collaboration will focus on strengthening regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries while promoting wider awareness of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, pharmacovigilance, and materiovigilance practices.
As part of the partnership, IPC and UPPPC will jointly conduct training programmes, workshops and stakeholder awareness initiatives aimed at improving regulatory capabilities across the industry.
The two organisations will also encourage research, innovation and industry-academia collaborations to accelerate the development of high-quality medicines and medical devices.
Recognising the important role of small businesses in the healthcare sector, the partnership will provide micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with digital tools for adverse event reporting, helping strengthen post-market surveillance and regulatory compliance.
The MoU also seeks to enhance patient safety by promoting robust quality assurance systems and strengthening post-market monitoring of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
