The new projects form part of the government's broader efforts to modernise the ESI healthcare network and improve access to quality medical services for India's organised workforce
Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate seven Employees' State Insurance (ESI) healthcare projects across the country on 14 July 2026, strengthening healthcare infrastructure for nearly 53 lakh beneficiaries under the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Scheme.
The inauguration ceremony will be held at the ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Sanathnagar, Telangana, where Dr. Mandaviya will formally open the new Outpatient Department (OPD) Block.
He will also virtually inaugurate six other healthcare facilities, including the upgraded 200-bed ESIC Hospital at Beltola in Assam, a 100-bed ESIC Hospital at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu, the ESIS Hospital at Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh, ESI Dispensary-cum-Branch Offices at Surendranagar in Gujarat and Udyog Nagar, Kota in Rajasthan, and an ESI Dispensary at Bhawani Mandi in Rajasthan.
Developed at a combined investment of around Rs. 668 crore, the projects are aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare and strengthening social security services for insured workers and their families.
Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment and MSME Shobha Karandlaje will also attend the event. During the programme, Dr. Mandaviya will felicitate construction workers who contributed to the development of the Sanathnagar OPD Block and distribute cash benefits to ESI beneficiaries, reaffirming the government's focus on worker welfare.
The newly constructed OPD Block at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Sanathnagar has been built at a cost of Rs. 211.13 crore with a built-up area of over 43,600 square metres. The facility is expected to serve more than 12.3 lakh insured persons and beneficiaries across Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts.
The hospital houses specialty outpatient departments covering General Medicine, ENT, Dentistry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Paediatrics, General Surgery and AYUSH, along with departments for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Radiology and Yoga. It also includes 180 general beds, 25 ICU beds, 20 NICU beds, medical stores and a clinical lecture theatre.
The inauguration further strengthens Telangana's ESI healthcare network, which now covers all 33 districts under the ESIC 2.0 reforms. The scheme currently provides social security coverage to over 19.15 lakh insured persons and 74.32 lakh beneficiaries across the state.
Among the other projects, the upgraded 200-bed ESIC Hospital at Beltola, Assam, will provide healthcare services to nearly 13.27 lakh beneficiaries, including workers and their families across Assam and several northeastern states.
The newly established 100-bed ESIC Hospital at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, located in one of India's largest manufacturing and electronics hubs, will cater to more than 5.5 lakh insured persons in Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts with facilities including emergency care, operation theatres, intensive care units, labour rooms, diagnostic services and pharmacy.
In Andhra Pradesh, the ESIS Hospital at Rajamahendravaram will serve over 2.52 lakh beneficiaries and features 26 outpatient consultation rooms and three modular operation theatres to support advanced clinical care.
The integrated ESI Dispensary and Branch Office at Surendranagar, Gujarat, will provide primary healthcare, medicines and social security services under one roof for around 35,000 beneficiaries.
Similarly, the ESI Dispensary and Branch Office at Udyog Nagar, Kota, will serve nearly 75,000 insured personsand approximately 2.91 lakh dependents, strengthening healthcare access for workers employed across Kota's industrial belt.
The ESI Dispensary at Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan, established to serve one of the state's major textile clusters, will provide healthcare services to around 27,700 insured workers and more than 1.07 lakh dependents.
