Aakash Healthcare has completed nine years of operations and announced plans to expand its bed capacity from the current 400 beds to 2,000 beds by the end of next year, marking its next phase of growth across North India.

The expansion will focus on super-speciality and tertiary care, with particular emphasis on orthopaedics and knee replacement, while the hospital also plans to strengthen its presence in medical value tourism.

Over the past nine years, Aakash Healthcare said it has treated more than 50 lakh patients, performed 98,800 surgeries and facilitated 10,000 deliveries. 

The hospital has also developed capabilities in robotic knee replacement and robotic surgery, alongside a broad portfolio of super-speciality and tertiary-care services.

Its clinical programmes span areas including cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences and orthopaedics, with knee replacement emerging as a key area of focus. The hospital said these capabilities have attracted patients from across India and overseas.

Aakash Healthcare has increasingly positioned itself as a destination for medical value tourism. According to hospital data, patients from 55 countries have travelled to the facility for treatment.

Aakash Healthcare is now preparing for what it describes as its most ambitious expansion phase, with plans to increase its capacity from 400 to 2,000 beds by the end of next year.

New facilities are planned across Delhi, Gurugram, Mathura and Dehradun, as the hospital seeks to build a broader healthcare network across North India. The expansion will also involve partnerships with regional healthcare providers.

The strategy is aimed at taking super-speciality and tertiary-care services closer to patients outside major metropolitan centres and reducing the need for people in Tier-2 cities and smaller towns to travel long distances for specialised treatment.
