NADMED Limited appoints James Lee as CEO to drive global expansion

Former Novo Nordisk and Pharmanovia executive to lead next growth phase in NAD diagnostics and personalised health innovation

NADMED Limited, a Finnish biotechnology firm specialising in advanced diagnostics, has appointed James Lee as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective early May.

The company is known for developing the only CE-marked test capable of directly measuring vitamin B3-derived NAD molecules from fresh blood.

Lee’s appointment comes at a time when NADMED is scaling its technology to meet rising international demand. With more than 25 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, he brings a strong track record in launching innovative therapies and expanding healthcare brands worldwide.

His previous roles include leadership positions at Novo Nordisk, where he contributed to the global launch strategy for Ozempic®, and most recently as Chief Brand Officer at Pharmanovia, overseeing its specialty medicines portfolio.

Commenting on his appointment, Lee said, “NADMED’s technology addresses a fundamental biological system that is becoming increasingly important across research, diagnostics, and personalised health. What stands out is how quickly the company has translated strong science into real commercial traction, with a presence in more than 30 countries. I see a clear opportunity to build on this foundation and scale its impact globally for researchers, clinicians, and patients.”

Highlighting the broader scientific context, Professor Anu Suomalainen Wartiovaara, co-founder and Chair of the Executive Board at NADMED, noted, “We’re seeing a real shift in how NAD biology and the disease-modified NAD/B3 states are being understood and applied, and that’s opening up opportunities well beyond where the field was just a few years ago."
