Aahwahan Foundation has inaugurated its 19th model dialysis unit at Vanivilas Hospital in Bengaluru, in partnership with Aptiv Components India Pvt. Ltd., strengthening access to affordable renal care for underprivileged patients and economically weaker sections.

The new unit is expected to serve thousands of patients annually, helping address a critical gap in dialysis access for people with chronic kidney disease and acute kidney complications. Equipped with modern infrastructure and a patient-centric design, the facility aims to improve treatment efficiency while reducing the financial burden on vulnerable families.

Hospital officials said the in-house dialysis facility will be especially crucial for high-risk pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia and acute kidney injury, enabling timely intervention without the delays and risks associated with transferring patients to other centres.

According to Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO and Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, the initiative is part of the organisation’s broader mission to make quality, compassionate and sustainable healthcare accessible to every patient regardless of income level.

The project also highlights the growing impact of CSR-led healthcare partnerships, with Aptiv providing critical support while the foundation led implementation and long-term sustainability planning.

Dr. Savitha C, Medical Superintendent at Vanivilas Hospital, said the new dialysis unit will not only support emergency maternal cases but also significantly improve access to affordable renal care for the wider community served by the government hospital.
