DePuy Synthes, the orthopaedics business of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, has announced plans to establish a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, which will serve as a global hub for innovation, engineering and enterprise services.

The new centre will bring together technology, data and business capabilities to support clinical innovation and operational excellence for patients, surgeons and healthcare partners globally.

The GCC will host a range of functions, including software development, data and AI, enterprise applications, technology services and cybersecurity, among others.

“India is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world for orthopaedic care, and this investment deepens our long-term commitment to patients, surgeons, and colleagues here,” said Namal Nawana, Worldwide President, DePuy Synthes.

Over the next 18–24 months, DePuy Synthes expects to build a team of approximately 500 professionals in Bengaluru, with scope for further expansion as the centre matures.

The centre will be led by Nicholas Parrotta, Chief Information Officer, DePuy Synthes, with support from senior technology leaders involved in its establishment and future operations.

Dr. Jai Ganesh, Chief Technology Officer, DePuy Synthes, will lead technology engineering, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity engineering and digital platforms for the company.

Nagaraj Bhat, GCC Leader, DePuy Synthes, will support the establishment of local operations and the centre's leadership team.

The GCC will be established in phases, with initial operational activities, including recruitment, scheduled to begin in August 2026.
