Cipla appoints Taher Karampurwala as Senior Director and Head of Middle East Business

Veteran pharmaceutical executive to relocate to Saudi Arabia and spearhead Cipla’s growth strategy across the Middle East region

Cipla has elevated Taher Karampurwala to the position of Senior Director and Head of Middle East Business, entrusting him with the responsibility of driving the company’s growth strategy across the region as it seeks to strengthen its international footprint.

In his expanded role, Karampurwala will relocate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and lead Cipla’s operations and strategic initiatives across Middle Eastern markets, a region that continues to be a key contributor to the company’s global growth ambitions.

Prior to this appointment, Karampurwala served as Cluster Head – Middle East at Cipla. He also held the position of Associate Director, APAC B2B Business, where he managed formulation businesses across multiple international markets with full profit-and-loss responsibility, helping drive growth and operational performance.

With more than 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Karampurwala brings deep expertise in international business management, market expansion, business development, and strategic partnerships. 

Before joining Cipla, he held leadership positions at Sun Pharma and Ranbaxy, where he played an instrumental role in advancing business development initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, global institutional collaborations, and commercial growth strategies across emerging markets.
