Alkem completes acquisition of majority stake in Switzerland's Occlutech

Acquisition through wholly owned subsidiary Alkem Medtech makes structural heart device maker Occlutech a step-down subsidiary

  • By IPP Bureau | July 20, 2026

Alkem Laboratories Limited has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Occlutech Holding AG, a Switzerland-based medical device company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Alkem Medtech Private Limited.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the transaction has been completed in accordance with the terms of the Share Purchase Agreement, making Occlutech a step-down subsidiary of Alkem Laboratories.

The acquisition follows the company's earlier disclosures made on February 13, March 6 and June 29, 2026, regarding Alkem Medtech's proposal to acquire at least 51% and up to 55% of Occlutech's issued equity share capital.

With the completion of the transaction, Alkem formally enters the structural heart medical devices segment through Occlutech, which develops minimally invasive implant-based technologies for treating congenital heart defects and other structural heart diseases.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Alkem's medical technology portfolio and expand its presence in the global cardiovascular device market.

The company said the disclosure has also been made available on its website in compliance with Regulation 30(8) of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
