The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) organised a two-day National Conference of Ministries, Departments and Organisations (MDOs) under the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) on August 20–21, 2026, at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi.

Organised by the Training Division of DoHFW in collaboration with NIHFW, the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and Karmayogi Bharat, the conference focused on strengthening organisational capacity for effective implementation of Mission Karmayogi.

Representatives from 140 institutes under DoHFW participated in the conference, which provided a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration aimed at promoting a ‘whole-of-government’ approach and reducing organisational silos.

Dr. Alka Mittal, Member, CBC, attended the inaugural session as Chief Guest, along with Rakesh Verma, Chief Operating Officer, Karmayogi Bharat.

On the second day, Dr. Vinod Kotwal, Additional Secretary (Training), MoHFW, highlighted the importance of capacity building and called upon MDOs to contribute to Health Domain courses covering caregivers, nursing and allied health professionals, geriatric care and other priority areas.

She also urged organisations to strengthen Capacity Building Units (CBUs) and complete the Annual Capacity Building Plan (ACBP) 2026–27.

Top-performing MDOs were also felicitated for their contributions during Sadhana Saptah, which helped DoHFW secure third rank in the 50,000-plus employees category.

The conference concluded with presentations on achievements, challenges and the way forward, followed by the distribution of participation certificates.
