India Health 2026, organised by Informa Markets in India, opened in New Delhi, bringing together healthcare providers, medical device manufacturers, policymakers, innovators, procurement leaders, distributors and global stakeholders.
The three-day exhibition, being held from August 21–23, features more than 300 domestic and international brandsand is expected to attract over 8,000 healthcare and medtech professionals.
The event comes as India’s healthcare economy is projected to reach Rs. 110.21 trillion by FY27, according to the organisers.
The inauguration was attended by senior representatives from the healthcare and medtech ecosystem, including Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Founder and CEO, AMTZ; Dr. Sunil K. Khetarpal, Deputy Director General, AHPI; Nital Patel, Secretary, ADMI; Dr. Rajiv Chhibber, Vice President, Sahajanand Medical Technologies; Mr. Rajiv Nath, Managing Director, Hindustan Syringes & Medical Device Ltd and Forum Coordinator, AIMED; Prof. Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, Founder and Chairman, Health Parliament and Academy of Digital Health Sciences; Dr. Annie Kumar, National President, TNAI; and Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, among others.
Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD, Founder and CEO, AMTZ, said the platform brings the entire healthcare and medtech ecosystem together and highlighted AMTZ’s growth as a major medtech manufacturing cluster.
According to Sharma, AMTZ currently has 187 manufacturers and 212 start-ups, generating collective annual business of nearly Rs. 70,000 crore.
He also announced the organisation’s Made in India Hospitals initiative, which aims to establish 100 hospitals in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, adding 10,000 beds and demonstrating the potential of Indian-made medical technologies.
Nital Patel, Secretary, ADMI, said technology should be viewed as a means of addressing real healthcare challenges rather than simply as an innovation showcase. He highlighted the need for solutions spanning diagnostics, digital transformation and scalable manufacturing that can serve patients across major hospitals as well as smaller towns and rural communities.
Dr. Sunil K. Khetarpal, Deputy Director General, AHPI, emphasised the need for a patient-centric, technology-driven, outcome-oriented and quality-focused healthcare model. He said technology would have meaningful impact only when it reaches patients safely, affordably and equitably.
Meanwhile, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said India's healthcare sector is entering a new phase driven by manufacturing expansion, investment, digital transformation and innovation.
He noted that healthcare expenditure is expected to account for 5% of India’s GDP by 2030, while the country's medical tourism market is projected to grow from US$8.71 billion in 2025 to US$16.21 billion by 2030.
The exhibition also has an international dimension, with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) participating as an exhibitor to facilitate greater India-UAE collaboration and knowledge exchange. A new B2B Matchmaking App has also been introduced to enable pre-scheduled meetings between exhibitors, buyers and decision-makers.
The exhibition floor features medical devices, diagnostics and AI-enabled healthcare technologies. DKS Ortho is showcasing orthopaedic implant solutions, while DRGEM Healthcare has presented its AI-enabled mobile X-ray system, Raymo. Faceecho.AI is exhibiting AI-based visual health screening solutions, while Hamdard is showcasing healthcare and wellness innovations.
Alongside the exhibition, India Health 2026 is hosting the Global MedTech Conference, bringing together regulators, industry leaders, innovators and policymakers for discussions on medical devices and diagnostics.
A parallel conference themed ‘Driving Innovation to Shape the Future of Clinical Care’ is focusing on hospital expansion, clinical innovation, critical care, medical education, diagnostics, digital transformation and evolving healthcare delivery models.
Over the remaining two days, discussions will cover AI-driven healthcare, precision oncology, women's health, workforce development, supply chain resilience, digital transformation and expanding access to quality healthcare beyond metropolitan centres.
India Health 2026 will continue through August 23 at Bharat Mandapam, with the organisers positioning the event as a platform for strengthening domestic manufacturing, fostering healthcare innovation and building partnerships across India's healthcare value chain.
