Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre hosted LIVer FEST Season 2, a liver health awareness initiative that brought together more than 250 doctors, patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and members of the public at the Hall of Culture, Nehru Centre, Worli.

The event focused on addressing the growing burden of fatty liver disease in India through expert-led discussions, patient testimonials and interactive sessions aimed at promoting early diagnosis, disease prevention and sustainable lifestyle modifications.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Aabha Nagral, Director – Gastroenterology, Chief Hepatologist & Liver Transplant Physician, Jaslok Hospital, highlighted the increasing prevalence of fatty liver disease and its often-silent progression to serious health complications.

Dr. Nagral emphasised that the condition is reversible with timely medical intervention and structured lifestyle changes, citing outcomes from more than 100 patients enrolled in the hospital's Fatty Liver Program.

She also outlined Jaslok Hospital's 3-Month Comprehensive Fatty Liver Reversal Program, an integrated care model that brings together hepatologists, endocrinologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists and general physicians under one roof. The programme is designed to provide coordinated, patient-centric care, addressing nutrition, physical activity, mental well-being and specialised liver management to improve long-term outcomes.

Vinod Chanrai and Jitendra Haryan reiterated the hospital's commitment to expanding access to preventive healthcare through community outreach and patient education initiatives.

A key highlight of the event was a patient felicitation and experience-sharing session, where individuals spoke about successfully reversing fatty liver disease through medical supervision, lifestyle modifications and sustained support. Their personal stories underscored the importance of early intervention and inspired attendees to prioritise liver health.

The programme concluded with a multidisciplinary panel discussion moderated by Dr. Aabha Nagral. The panel featured endocrinologist Dr. Shaival Chandalia; physiotherapists Dr. Reena Javkar and Dr. Salomi Sequeira; clinical nutritionists Sonal Chandalia, Safala Mahadik and Ishita Das; psychologists Ritika Aggarwal and Tanya Raj; along with patient relatives Dr. Anand Bhabhor and Renuka Bose.
